Advances in technology can improve the care that veterans receive from the VA.
Congressman Jack Bergman took part in a committee hearing entitled “Assessing the VA IT Landscape: Progress and Challenges.”
The hearing was designed to explore the major Information Technology modernization projects and programs underway at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Bergman said advances in technology have given us the opportunity to increase access and streamline processes for Veterans in the First District and across Michigan.
However, he says they have to make sure that technology is an asset and not an added burden to Veterans.
Bergman also noted that as the VA moves toward more automated processes, they need to double-down in their efforts to make sure that Veterans in rural parts of the First District have broadband access.
