Houghton to Consider Small Property Sale

The Houghton city council will discuss selling a small piece of the land currently occupied by the big parking deck tonight.

The owners of 326 Shelden Avenue would like to buy a 10-foot strip immediately to the north of their present building. Braveworks Developers plans to modify the building, which sits back off Shelden Avenue between Swift Hardware and the Frank A. Douglass Insurance Agency office. They need the additional space to install structural supports.

The purchase would be contingent on the deck’s removal. An appraisal will need to be completed to help establish a price.

Tonight’s regular council meeting starts at 5:30 at the City Center. See the agenda here. Get remote viewing access here.
