The city of Houghton is going to place an order with Zamboni, Inc for a new Zamboni for Dee Stadium at a price of about $94,000.
Delivery takes six to eight months so the order must be placed soon so it will arrive in time for next hockey season.
The current Zamboni was due for replacement in 2016 and will be either traded in or sold to help offset the price of a new one.
Between the sale of the old unit and selling advertising at the Dee and on the Zamboni itself, the city expects to cover a third to one-half the cost of the new one.
