As received from the MUS Extension Service:
The Houghton-Keweenaw County 4-H Program is excited to announce the presentation of the annual Houghton-Keweenaw County 4-H Senior Scholarship to Caleb Bach of Houghton. We congratulate Caleb for his dedication and active participation in 4-H for over 11 years. He credits 4-H for having a positive impact on his life.
Caleb served as the treasurer of the Copper Tips 4-H Archery Club since 2016 and is very active in his club and the 4-H community. He competed at both the regional and state 4-H shooting sports tournaments. For his leadership service, he was awarded the county-wide Jr. Teen Leader of the Year in 2015, and Sr. Teen Leader of the Year in 2018.
“Caleb has embraced key components of 4-H, including leadership and service to others within his club and community. Caleb is a quiet, confident leader and exemplary role model for younger members and his peers. He has regularly volunteered his time to help teach younger 4-H members through local events and the 4-H archery club. His 4-H experiences have led him to have composure and patience during difficult situations while sustaining a positive attitude and dedication to his personal values. He is always eager to lend a hand to others. We are excited to see how he uses the life skills he’s gained through 4-H in the future.” says Anne Kretschmann, Houghton-Keweenaw County 4-H Program Coordinator.
This annual $500 competitive scholarship is awarded to a High School Senior who has been involved in 4-H for a minimum of 3 years and lives in Houghton or Keweenaw Counties. The scholarship applies towards educational plans beyond high school such as college, university, military, trade school, or apprenticing.
