Michigan Tech’s Department of Kinesiology and Integrative Physiology will once again host local high school students as part of National Biomechanics Day.
On Wednesday, students from Houghton High School will engage in biomechanics-related lab activities lead by KIP assistant professors Steve Elmer and Tejin Yoon.
The groups will rotate around three biomechanics labs.
One lab will investigate the response of the body to different types of muscle contractions.
One will look at tools biomechanists use to analyze motion and measure force and the third lab will look at how foot alignments affect joint alignment all the way up to the neck.
