Houghton Firefighters Hope To “Fill The Boot”

Members of the Houghton Fire Department and their families will be out and about Tuesday afternoon for their annual Fill The Boot fundraiser.

For the fourth year in a row, Houghton Fireman Buck Foltz says folks will be at various traffic stops today from 4pm to 6pm.

Donations go to help the fight against cancer.

Fireman Bubba Megowen says they hope people will donate because after a good start, the amount of money raised by the Fill The Boot event has been going down.

The Relay For Life event takes place this Thursday from 4pm to midnight at Finlandia’s McAfee Field in Hancock.
