Houghton Fall Clean-Up Starts Today

The City of Houghton’s fall clean-up effort begins today.

Residents can drop off wood, brick and metal at the Public Works Garage on Gundlach Road through the end of October. Dumpsters will be available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only. Wood should be cut to four-foot lengths or less.

Items such as furniture, clothes, tires, cardboard, paint and empty paint cans, household garbage, and light bulbs will not be accepted.

City crews will pick up debris from residents who are age 65 or older, or handicapped. Call the City office at 482-1700 to arrange for a visit either October 7th or 21st.

Residents may continue to drop off natural yard debris at the Public Works Garage as long as weather permits.
