With the Houghton County Fair just two weeks away, some important deadlines are approaching.
Registration for all livestock, including horses, poultry and rabbits must be turned in to the fair office by Monday at 7 p.m.
Paperwork for 4-H or other large clubs should be submitted by Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Open adult and open youth still exhibits, and the livestock skillathon have a deadline of
Friday, August 19, at 6 p.m. to avoid a late fee.
The Youth Talent Show has been expanded to include small groups this year. Early registration is suggested, but participants may enter until the event begins on August 27 at 12:30.
Registrations may be submitted in person or by mail to the fair office, or through the website.
Fair officials are also encouraging early sign-ups for the Motocross Races, Off Road Derby, Demolition Derby, and Farm Tractor Pull, but registrations will be accepted at the events.
The fair will take place August 25 through 28. Early Bird admission tickets to the fair are available through the website, or at Superior National Bank branches throughout Houghton County. Discounted Skerbeck Carnival Mega Bands can be purchased online, or in the fair office during business hours.
