Houghton County Arena Improvement Costs Rising

Commissioner Scott Ala gave an update to the Houghton County Board of Commissioners on the needed renovations at the Houghton County Arena.

Though fundraising efforts are getting underway, Ala said the cost of the ice plant equipment is going up and may run as much as half a million dollars.

That does not include the other improvements to the arena, such as the bleachers–which has been awarded a grant, and the cost of replacing the roof.
