Houghton Council to Discuss Animal, Nuisance Ordinance Revisions

The Houghton city council will consider paving the way for another marijuana retailer at tonight’s meeting.

The special use permit for 1301 Ridge Road was recently endorsed by the city planning commission.

NU Group intends to open one of its Nirvana Centers in the building that formerly housed the Bambu Restaurant. The company operates retail outlets in several states.

The council will also revisit proposed changes to the city’s animal and nuisance ordinances. Some changes to the original drafts have been made, based on public input received since their introduction.

You can read the latest revisions, and review this evening’s agenda, in the City Council Agenda Packets section here.

The meeting begins at 5:30 at the City Center. Find out how to access the online feed here.
