Houghton Council Sets Fall Clean-Up Date

Houghton’s fall clean-up will run from September 28th to October 27th. The dates were approved Wednesday night by the city council.

Dumpsters will be available seven days a week at the city garage at the corner of Technical Avenue and Gundlach Road.

Wood, brick, furniture, clothes and metal will be accepted. Tires, cardboard, paint and empty paint cans, liquid of any kind, oils, household garbage, and light bulbs of any type will not.

Yard waste, including leaves, small branches and grass clippings, continues to be accepted at the east side of the city salt storage building.

Pickup can be arranged for seniors and handicapped residents – call 482-1700 for details.
