Houghton Community Broadcasting has been honored with a half-dozen awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
At the Great Lakes Media Show in Lansing last night, radio station 97.7 The Wolf won Small Market Excellence in Broadcasting Awards for Best Newscast, and Best Use of New Media for coverage of Kraft Hockeyville USA.
The Wolf also claimed Merit Awards for Marketing Materials and Promos, Community Involvement for coverage of Kraft Hockeyville USA, and Feature Programming for Copper Country Today’s coverage of the Michigan budget crisis. KBear 102.3 won an additional Merit award for Special Show Broadcast for the Deer Hunters Roundup.
Our sister station in Iron River, WIKB, also won two Excellence in Broadcasting Awards and one Merit honor.
