The City of Houghton is looking for a couple of new board members.
One person is needed for the Board of Review. The candidate must be an elector of the city, and an owner of property assessed for taxes in the city. The Board of Review meets in March, July and December of each year. See more details here.
Another individual is needed to serve on the Downtown Development Authority/Tax Increment Finance Authority. The candidate must have an interest in property located in the downtown district. The downtown district includes the properties between Montezuma Avenue and Portage Lake and between Franklin Square and the Kestner Waterfront Park. The authority meets two to three times a year.
