The Department of Public Works will be busy over the next few weeks, as the weather improves.

The mortgage on the Statewide Insurance Building on Huron and Sheldon, was paid off by Tapio Properties, and was discharged by the council.
The DDA Plan was also approved.
Public hearings for the 2021 budget and Capital Improvement Plan are scheduled for June 10th.
Ordinances 308 and 309, dealing with Phase II of the water and sewer bonds, were also approved, as were the draw requests for resolutions 1733 and 1734, which deal directly with the water and sewer bonds.
The Council also approved $1,500 a year, for the next two years, to support the Community Garden, located west of the courthouse.
The meeting wrapped up with the council approving bars and restaurants to apply for a special license from the Liquor Control Commission, to allow outdoor seating.
