The City of Houghton is proceeding with the abandonment of Red Oak Lane, an undeveloped road within the subdivision project in West Houghton.
By formally abandoning the seventy-foot wide right-of-way, including a sixty-foot radius cul-de-sac, the road can be realigned to fit the layout of the subdivision.
A public hearing was held at the City Council’s regular meeting Wednesday.
City Manager Eric Waara said the road had been cleared with some gravel added but was otherwise undeveloped.
