A Holocaust survivor and author will be speaking at Temple Jacob in Hancock this evening.
Irene Miller will talk about the experiences she wrote about in her book “Into No Man’s Land: A Historical Memoir” at 7:30, with tours of the historic synagogue offered at 7pm.
Since her retirement from a career in healthcare, Miller has spoken about her life during the Holocaust in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Canada at professional conferences, for military groups, labor unions, churches, synagogues, schools, and universities.
Her book, published in 2012, has been used by many book clubs and discussion groups.
The PBS documentary Irene; Child of the Holocaust premiered December 2016.
By sharing her story, she hopes to promote tolerance and acceptance of diversity.
The public is invited to the presentation and copies of her book will be available for sale after the talk.
Parking is available at the Marina and at the bank down the street.
