Highland Copper Waiting For Sample Test Results

Highland Copper Company is awaiting test results from samples taken during exploratory drilling earlier this year in Gogebic County.

Highland began drilling at its Copperwood Project in February but had to halt operations in early April as ground conditions along County Road 519 began to deteriorate due to an early spring thaw.

The company says the drilling caused ground erosion and they are working to restore the damaged area.

Highland was able to complete 22 of the planned 44 drill holes.

Samples have been sent to labs for analysis.

Highland expects to begin drilling again when the ground conditions have improved and when they have the required permits from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.

Highland is also working on updating a 2012 Feasibility Study on the Copperwood Project.

The goals of the update include adding additional resources and reserves that were not in the original study and to explore alternative mining methods to determine which will generate the most value for the project.

They expect to complete the update by next summer.

Highland is also working to finalize the acquisition of the White Pine Project in Ontonagon County and is evaluating other opportunities in Michigan.
