Hecht, Aho, Eskola Earn Top Fair Still Exhibit Competition Honors

Pamela Hecht was named Exhibitor of the Year at the 2024 Houghton County Fair.

The award is presented to the person with the highest aggregate score in the “still” exhibition category.

Hazel Tepsa was presented with the Agnes Ahola Award.

Silver Platter Awards were presented to the winners of individual categories:

• Needlework – Cathy Isaacson
• Culinary Arts – Jenny Dice
• Fine Arts and Folk Arts – Pamela Hecht
• Floriculture – Jenny Dice
• Horticulture – Bill Isaacson

In the King Arthur Contest, first place went to Jenny Dice, second place to Kathleen Abbott, and third place to Melanie Walls.

In the Youth Still Awards Division, Jane Eskola was named Junior Exhibitor of the Year, and Sylvia Aho was honored as Senior Exhibitor of the Year. 

Jackson Holombo took first place in the Youth King Arthur Contest, with Esther Riesgraf second, and Jane Eskola third.
