Hebner Promoted To Houghton County Jail Administrator

The Houghton County Jail has a new Administrator–that announcement coming from Sheriff Brian McLean, who says Corrections Officer Doug Hebner has been promoted to the position.

Hebner has served with the Houghton County Sheriff’s Officer for almost 20 years as a corrections officer.

He also has worked many seasons as a certified Marine Enforcement Officer during the boating season and is also certified as an ORV Enforcement Officer.

Hebner also taught classes on marine safety and ORV operator safety courses for the public though the Sheriff’s Office.

He will begin his duties as Jail Administrator immediately and will be responsible for day to day operations of both the main jail and work camp facilities as well as training and supervision for all corrections staff.

“Doug has served Houghton County well in the past and I’m confident he will continue to do so in the future”, says Sheriff McLean.  “He is always high energy, well organized, knowledgeable in all jail operations and always professional and upbeat – all excellent traits in the busy, fast paced and ever changing jail operations/corrections world.”
