A mid-day two-car crash near Painesdale yesterday injured two people.
Houghton County Sheriff’s deputies were called out just after noon to M-26.
They determined a 17-year-old girl traveling north on the highway lost control of her vehicle, and crossed into the southbound lane.
It hit a vehicle driven by a 65-year-old Painesdale man head-on.
Both drivers were taken to UP Health System-Portage. Their identities, the extent of their injuries, and their conditions have not been released.
An investigation continues.
The Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Adams Township Fire Department and First Responders, Mercy Ambulance and Superior Service.
