Hancock’s Christmas Walk & Small Business Saturday

Hancock Christmas Walk 2013HANCOCK, MI – Join us in downtown Hancock for two holiday events. Downtown Hancock’s Annual Christmas Walk will be on Friday, November 25 from 6-8pm and Small Business Saturday on November 26th.

On Friday night join the parade as Santa rides through town on the firetruck and dress up the family dog for the Merry Mutt Parade.

The parade starts at the Scott building and ends at City Hall for the lighting of the tree. Children can decorate cookies as they wait for photo opportunities with Santa.

There will also be free sled dog rides on Quincy Green and horse-drawn wagon rides around town.

Businesses will be open until 8pm. Stroll through town on brand new sidewalks and enjoy decorated windows and holiday treats at various businesses.

Then on Saturday, November 26 come back downtown for Small Business Saturday. Hancock joins this national shopping event the Saturday after Thanksgiving to promote buying local. Various businesses will offer sales or specials.

“Shopping in our small stores owned and operated by local families provides a warmer, friendlier shopping experience. Plus there are no long checkout lines and your money stays in this community.” says Cynthia Cote, director of the Community Arts Center and member of the HBPA.

These events are sponsored by the Hancock Business and Professionals Association and the City of Hancock.
