Hancock to Consider Water Rate Increase

The Hancock City Council will consider a significant hike in city water rates tonight.

The increase to $9.05 per 1,000 gallons represents a more than 15 percent jump over the $7.85 rate currently in effect.

The Council will hold a public hearing on the increase at 6:00. A vote on the proposal is scheduled later on the evening’s agenda.
