Hancock Public Schools is asking voters to support a sinking fund proposal on the next ballot.
Hancock Schools Superintendent Kipp Beaudoin gave a presentation to the city council at their regular meeting Wednesday.
The district is asking to raise $1.39 million over the next five years with a millage increase of 1.5 mills.
The average property owner would pay about $5.63 a month.
Funds would be used to improve school safety, along with upgrading the heating system and replacing the roofs at the high school and middle school.
Additional funds would go toward facility upgrades throughout the district.
The next election is August 7th.
