The request for a Labor Day waiver for the Hancock School District has officially been submitted.
The Board met yesterday, with a representative from the Michigan Department of Education present via video conference, and the request was given.
The waiver, if granted, would allow the Hancock School District to start the school year before Labor Day.
The request for the waiver was submitted, to benefit students enrolled in sports, band and pre-college classes.
District Superintendent Steve Patchin believes the “3-4-5” works best.
The District hopes to have their decision some time next week.
