Hancock School District Kicks Off School Year

Today starts the 2021 school year, and there’s lots to go over from the Hancock School District.

In an email sent to parents, Superintendent Dr. Steve Patchin reminded parents football will be returning on September 18th.

There are two openings for the school theater’s latest production.

Information on how to get involved with that will be coming next week.

There will be an information session for the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program on Saturday at 11am.

There was also news if your child rides the bus to school.

Masks must be worn at all times, when on the bus.

Failure to comply will result in having to make other arrangements for your child to get to school.

Hand sanitizer will be offered when students get on the bus.

Families must sit together, and remain in their assigned seat.

No food or gum will be allowed on the bus.

Drivers will disinfect commonly touched surfaces after each run and busses will be washed and sanitized inside and out weekly.

Young students will not be able to get off the bus, unless the driver can see an adult.

The state, along with federal help, has extended the summer lunch program.

Parents are asked to fill out the free and reduced meal application, as it helps the district gain more funding.

You don’t have to take advantage of the program, but the more families signed up, means more money for the district.

If you’ve chosen to keep your children home to live stream or attend virtual classes, you can still pick up meals for the week starting on September 15th from 4p-5:15p.
