Hancock Library Invites Public to Open House, Book Sale

The Hancock School Public Library will host an open house to celebrate the reopening of the library under management of the Portage Lake District Library (PLDL) on Friday, March 8 from 3:30 – 6:00pm and continuing on Saturday, March 9 from 10:00am – 2:00pm.

The Friends of the Portage Lake District Library will host a used book sale at the Hancock library to coincide with the open house.

Proceeds from the book sale will be used to purchase new books that will replace worn or damaged classic titles still in high demand at the Hancock School Public Library.

On November 1, the PLDL entered into an agreement with the Hancock Public Schools. Under the agreement, PLDL staffs the Hancock library and provides books and other materials, access to library databases, interlibrary loan, and programming. The agreement is for three years.

All library events are free and everyone is welcome. For more information on the program, please call the library at 906-482-4570.
