The Hancock Public Library will host a Summer Reading Program with the theme “A Universe of Stories.
The program features a fun summer of reading, prizes, activities and presentations.
A kick-off event will be held this Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm with space-themed crafts and a snack while participants sign up and get their reading logs.
Registration is also open all summer long. Summer Reading Programs encourage summer reading with prizes along the way, including a free soft-serve cone from Milly’s, a free Bubbler drink from K.C. Bonkers and a free book.
There will be space-themed storytimes on the library’s regular schedule (the first Tuesday of every month at 1:00pm), as well as additional storytimes and presentations. Mark your calendars now for August 2 when they will host StarLab from 1-3:00 pm! And John Haeussler, the former Mayor of Hancock, will begin a series of historical presentations about Hancock on July 24 with “Fire, Miners, Elephants: Hancock in Pictures and Words 1860-1940.”
The Summer Reading Program is open to all ages, children through adults, and reading logs may include books, magazines, audio books, reading to young children, and being read to.
