Former Hancock councilor and mayor John Haeussler has returned to the city council.
At a special meeting last night, Haeussler was appointed to fill the at-large council position vacated by the resignation of Stephanie Tubman.
It was Tubman who replaced Haeussler last June, when Haeussler stepped down because of health issues. Those issues have been resolved.
When Tubman resigned several weeks ago because of time commitment issues, Haeussler became one of five qualified candidates who applied.
His term will run through November.
The council put off discussion about applying for a grant to purchase the Copper Island Beach Club property until its regular meeting March 18th.
