Grants Boost Business Parks in L’Anse, Hancock

The Baraga County Economic Development Corporation is getting money from the state to continue work at the L’Anse industrial park on Lambert Road.

$75,000 from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation will help pay to expand natural gas service in the park.

A $20,000 local match will be required.

L’Anse Village Manager Bob LaFave said the continued development of the park will help industry grow, and provide employment.

The City of Hancock is also receiving $75,000 from the MEDC.

The grant will be packaged with other funds to help create the city’s new business and technology park, which will be located in the northeast corner of the city.
