Governor Whitmer held a press conference, updating the state on the COVID-19 battle yesterday afternoon.
She began by thanking an Upper Peninsula resident, named Linda, who recently renewed her nursing license, as she couldn’t sit on the sidelines, while people needed help.
She recapped steps she’s taken since the crisis began, and had this to say regarding residents enrolling in healthcare plans.
She also feels the public health crisis, outweighs the financial crisis.
She said another executive order is coming Friday.
Director of Michigan’s Labor and Economic Opportunity Division, Jeff D’onofrio had this to say regarding the state’s unemployment insurance agency.
To date, Michigan has 40, 399 confirmed cases, with 3,670 deaths. The Western Upper Peninsula has six confirmed cases, with one death.
