Governor Whitmer has signed more executive orders, aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19.
Effective immediately, non-essential medical and dental procedures are being temporarily halted.
This order hopes to not only slow the spread of the disease, but also reduce the strain on healthcare workers, who are already overworked, as a result of COVID-19.
Some examples of surgeries temporarily suspended include joint replacement, bariatric surgeries and cosmetic surgeries.
Surgeries meant to save or prolong life, prenatal surgery including childbirth and organ transplants, are exempt.
