Governor Whitmer Extends One Executive Order Signs Two New Orders

Governor Whitmer has signed new executive orders and extended another.

Her extended order temporarily halts evictions, until the COVID-19 pandemic passes.

Tenants and mobile home owners now have the ability to stay put, even if they can’t pay their rent, and also allows courts to stay eviction proceedings until the pandemic is under control.

The next executive order expands telehealth options for residents, allowing healthcare agencies to provide care for such things as mental health care, drug treatment and other at home healthcare via telehealth.

Insurance companies must also cover the cost of virtual check ins and e visits.

Her last order, signed late last night, allows homeowners to dispute the assessed value of their property, extends deadlines for certain meeting and filing dates and also extends deadlines for filing petitions to appeal assessment determinations, as they apply to commercial and industrial properties.
