Governor Whitmer Announces New Executive Order

Now is not the time to start taking shortcuts in the battle against COVID-19, according to Governor Whitmer at her press conference yesterday.

She also stressed the value of a mask.

Implicit Bias Training, will also  be a requirement for training and certification, if  you want a career in the healthcare field.

The announcement and executive order, came at the recommendation of the state’s Coronavirus Task Force on Racial Disparities, which Whitmer created in response to the disproportionate impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on communities of color.

The black community in Michigan makes up 14% of the population, but has had 40% of the state’s deaths from COVID-19.

To date, Michigan has 67,683 confirmed cases, with 6,024 deaths.

Whitmer said her team, including herself, will undergo Implicit Bias Training, every year.
