Governor Whitmer and Michigan’s Department of Insurance and Financial Services, have announced the creation of the MiMortgage Relief Partnership, with over 200 of Michigan’s financial institutions.
The partnership recognizes and expands the steps financial institutions have taken to assist customers going through financial hardship, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
By signing onto the partnership, financial institutions agree to continue working with customers, to help them through monetary hardships.
Key points of the agreement include a 90 day grace period on mortgage payments, foregoing new foreclosures for 60 days and refraining from reporting negative credit scoring information, should a customer take advantage of the agreement.
