Governer Whitmer Extends Tax Deadline

Governor Whitmer has signed an executive order, which extends the deadline for Michigan residents to pay back taxes and stop foreclosure of their property during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The executive order is already in effect, and moves the tax foreclosure deadline from March 31st to May 29th, or 30 days after the “State of Emergency” Declaration is lifted, whichever comes first.

Governor Whitmer stated “We want all Michiganders to focus on staying healthy and making smart choices to help avoid the spread of COVID-19.”
