Go Fund Me Account Set Up For Hancock Student

Students and staff at Hancock Schools continue to mourn the loss of a high school senior who passed away following a swimming accident on Saturday.

17-year-old Jimmy Bell was pulled unconscious from the Portage Canal at the docks on East Lakeshore Drive where bystanders began to give him CPR.

Emergency crews arrived and continued life saving measures and Bell was taken to U.P. Health System—Portage, then to U.P. Health System–Marquette and later to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin before he passed away.

Grief counselors were on hand at Hancock Public Schools Monday to talk with students and staff.

A Go Fund Me account has been set up in his name to aid with expenses.
