Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes announced that Karmen Lemke will be joining their organization as the Chief Executive Officer this November. Ms. Lemke comes to the Girl Scouts from Wisconsin Public Service where she has served in a variety of positions including Manager of Community Relations and Director of the WPS Foundation overseeing direct grants, scholarships, and an employee matching gifts program.
She was the recipient of the 2010 NWTC Distinguished Alumni Award and the 2007 Leo Frigo Leadership Award and is a graduate of Leadership Green Bay. Her involvement in the community includes serving on the Board of Directors for the Catholic Foundation, Downtown Green Bay Inc., CP, Salvation Army of Brown County, Green Bay Chamber’s Partners in Education Executive Board, and she is a member of the Emeritus Board for the Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay. Previously she served on Einstein Project and Volunteer Center Board of Directors and the Wrightstown Community School District Board of Education for six years.
Ms. Lemke holds an Associate degree in Marketing from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lakeland College.
Ms. Lemke joins the Council at a key time when the organization is highlighting the positive outcomes and importance of an all-girl environment. The Girl Scouts have a well-documented history of ground-breaking leadership development for girls and young women with programming adapted to meet the needs and challenges for girls today.
