In the Copper Country over the past 24 hours, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist wasn’t making any promises about restoring state budget money headed for our area that was cut by Governor Gretchen Whitmer…
Nor was he ruling it out…
And, as far as the money for rural hospitals that was cut… and the nearly-million-dollar payment the state owes the employee retirement system on behalf of western U.P. counties from the defunct Michigan Works program… Democrat Gilchrist says we weren’t targeted because of our Republican representation in the House and Senate…
…and he swears we’re more than just pawns in the political process…
Gilchrist wrapped up his trip to the Keweenaw this morning, and has moved on to Marquette.
