Free WiFi hotspots are coming to Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw and Ontonagon Counties, thanks to a partnership between the Portage Health Foundation, UP.Net, Peninsula Fiber Network and REMC1.
Executive Director Kevin Store spoke of the need for connectivity, especially in a time where online learning and working from home are the norm, for the time being.
The hot spots will be available at least through September, and could be around longer, based on usage.
The hotspots are free, no password required from 7a-10pm, and do not track personal usage.
