Baraga County Communities That Care is hosting a Mental Health First Aid Training next month which helps participants learn to identify and offer help to individuals who may be developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.
The course equips participants with the skills to apply the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan to reach out and provide initial support until appropriate treatment is received or the crisis is resolved.
The training will take place at the Baraga County Memorial Hospital Conference Center in L’Anse on October 26th from 8:30am-5:30pm.
The training is free but space is limited to 25 people. All are welcome, but preference will be shown to those from Baraga County as some of the funding sources were generated here. Register online by October 16th at http://bit.do/mhfa. Book and lunch is included. For more information, contact Brian at (906) 482-4880 or brendel@cccmh.org
The event is sponsored by the Copper Country Mental Health Services, Rice Memorial Clinic Foundation and the Baraga County Communities that Care Coalition–funded by NorthCare Network, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
