Former UP Resident Named One of L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future

Science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard grew many strange and interesting worlds out of his head and onto paper. And like many book writers he became a point of inspiration to many novelists and authors, including Mike Jack Stoumbos. Stoumbos grew up in the area with his mother and brother before they moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin. He says he found he was drawn to the worlds of fantasy and sci-fi at an early age, growing up during the popularity of the Stars Wars films. Stombos was named one of the L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future for 2022. Putting him in line for a chance to win this year’s Golden Pen.

“So as one of the first place winners, I am up for the Golden Pen and the grand prize. So that is a very exciting thing to look ahead toward. And then I dont want to bank on it, then again, it would be really exciting if that happens.” – Mike Jack Stoumbos, Writer of the Future

Stoumbos’ desire to write and delve into different new and interesting worlds has grown from those moments of watching Jedi’s battling Sith. And is a feeling that he describes as a need and something that he has to do. A feeling common among many authors and artists. Mike Jack Stoumbos’s story will be published in the L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 38. The Golden pen will be awarded on April 8th.
