Former Auto Shop Roof Collapses

A former auto repair and U-Haul shop in Laurium suffered a roof collapse over the weekend.

The building on the corner of First and Osceola Streets was once operated by Trails Creek Auto but neighbors say it has been closed for a while.

The roof appears to have buckled under the weight of ice and snow.

The street in front of the building has been blocked off but no other businesses have been affected, including the Miner’s Café located next door.
