It’s flu shot time!
The Western U.P. Health Department, U.P. Health System—Portage and Aspirus Keweenaw will provide flu shots at a fast, convenient vaccination clinic this Saturday from 9 to 11am at the Hancock High School Gym.
Annual flu shots are recommended for persons 6 months and older, especially for those at greater risk of flu-related complications, including young children, the elderly, pregnant women and people with chronic diseases.
Flu shots will cost $30 per person, with no charge to clients who present a current Medicare, Medicaid, Healthy Michigan or Healthy Kids card.
Many children qualify for free or reduced rates through the Vaccines for Children program.
Drive-thru service will be available for those with limited mobility.
