Finlandia University is a winner in Riddell’s ’18 in 18’ Smarter Football program.
The team was notified with a special congratulatory message from Riddell brand ambassador Peyton Manning.
Riddell’s annual program received nearly 1,400 applications this year and is donating equipment to 18 winning programs across the country, spanning youth to college, that have demonstrated their commitment to a smarter, safer game.
On the field, the Finlandia University program is dedicated to teaching its players proper blocking and tackling techniques.
Off the field, the team regularly commits time to working with the retirement community in town and volunteering with the local maintenance department to make sure the local lakes and land stay clean.
