Finlandia’s Upward Bound Program Extended

The TRIO Upward Bound program at Finlandia University has received a federal grant to continue its operations.

The Upward Bound program helps prepare low-income students for college, specifically, those who would be the first from their family to receive a bachelor’s degree.

The nationwide program was started by President Lyndon Johnson as part of the War on Poverty in 1964. Finlandia has hosted a local effort for more than 35 years.

If a high school student from your family could benefit from the program, contact the university, or check with their high school guidance counselor.
