Finlandia Takes Tough Stance Against COVID-19

Finlandia University has taken measures to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Starting today, the university has begun closing Finlandia Hall.

Students are being asked to be off campus by 5pm Tuesday, the 17th.

Visitation from Guests is also suspended.

Face-to-face classes, as well as labs and clinicals are also cancelled.

Instructors will be moving to Canvas, the online learning platform, through the remainder of the semester.

The university is developing ways to minimize disruptions, as students transition from classroom to online learning.

Administration offices will remain open. Gatherings have been limited to 25 people or less, and the Honors Banquet, scheduled for April 17th, will not be held as scheduled.

Alternative options are being investigated.

The 2020 Spring Sports season has been cancelled.

If you’re experiencing anxiety due to the drastic changes that have occurred, you’re eligible for free counseling through Northstar.
