Finlandia University will be bringing back face to face instruction, when their Fall semester opens on August 24th.
In March, when lock down orders went into effect due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Finlandia was forced to switch to online learning, for the remainder of the semester.
They managed to make the Spring semester successful, with their support system, which included a new learning management system, an agile faculty and student grit.
Finlandia’s return to normal is focused on safe openings for business and their campus.
Their business open, will follow guidelines set forth on national, state and local levels, and will provide workplace flexibilities and promote safety and wellness.
The campus opening will feature the same protocols as the business opening, but will also be governed by guidelines from collaborative’s from Michigan’s private and independent colleges and universities.

They are also in the planning stages with UP Health System Portage, for an on campus student health center.
