Finlandia University has completed teach-out agreements with five colleges, as its students look for new educational homes.
Agreements are now fully in place with Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan, Adrian College, Bay College, and Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.
Those five institutions have agreed to accept the transfers of any Finlandia students who are in good academic standing, and will charge no more for classes than the students would have had to pay at Finlandia.
The exception is students who were attending Finlandia under the Hancock Promise, which was a unique agreement between Finlandia and the Hancock School District.
All earned credits will transfer, and degrees should be able to be completed in the same amount of time as was expected at Finlandia.
Displaced Finlandia students also have the option of transferring to other colleges. Those students will need to go through the target institution’s typical transfer admission processes.
