HANCOCK, MI – Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center (UGL) welcomes Brittany Wadaga, Nurse Practitioner (NP), to their team of Family Medicine providers. She will be serving patients at UGL’s Hancock Family Health Center – Family Practice and will also assist with seeing patients at other UGL locations as needed.
Wadaga was born in Racine, WI, and moved to the Upper Peninsula in 2003. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Finlandia University in Hancock, MI, followed by her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner Degree from University of Michigan-Flint in Flint, MI.
Wadaga is eager to join the UGL family to provide quality care to patients in our rural community. She has an interest in Family Medicine because she enjoys interacting with and caring for patients of all ages.
“Family Medicine allows me to care for my patients through their lifespan,” says Brittany. Wadaga also has an interest in Diabetes management and thyroid disorders. Brittany says, “I enjoy the opportunity to educate my patients about preventive health and assist them with managing their acute and chronic conditions in order for them to live their healthiest life.”
Wadaga looks forward to connecting with her patients. “A positive patient-provider relationship with trust, communication and patient education are essential components to developing an effective health care plan,” says Wadaga, “This has a strong influence on how patients perceive their quality of care. I have the responsibility to educate with evidence-based information to help my patients recognize the importance of preventive measures and their treatment options.”
Wadaga and her family enjoy spending time at camp and being outdoors, kayaking, going for walks with their dog, Bella, and traveling.
