Finlandia University is adding two new bachelor’s degrees and two new minors to its offerings.
The new degrees are a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
The university already offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and biology. Dean of the Suomi College of Arts and Sciences Dr. Jason Oyadomari says the new options will appeal to students that want a more science-intensive education.
The new minors are in Military Science and Global Studies. The Global Studies minor will explore cultures around the world, with an emphasis on studying why conflicts occur between them. The Military Science minor is designed to fit in with students in the ROTC program, and is similar to the Military Science minor at Michigan Tech.
The new paths of study will be offered beginning next fall, along with a Creative Writing minor that was approved several months ago.
